Karen Sypher photos and Rick Pitino. Karen Sypher is the woman accused of trying to extort $10 million from Rick Pitino, the University of Louisville men's basketball coach. Sypher and Pitino met at Porcini restaurant in Lousville in 2003 and had consesual sex there. According to Pitino two weeks later Sypher contacted him and told him that she was pregnant. Pitino arranged to meet her at the condo of the team strength coach, Tim Sypher. Pitino allegedly gave her $3,000 for abortion. But this did not stop there because Sypher began to demand bigger things like cars, tuition for her children and finally $10 million.
